AFEP positions on the priorities of the French presidency of the Council of the EU

France has taken over the EU Council presidency on 1st January 2022. AFEP is seizing this opportunity to put forward its positions on the presidency priorities to “create conditions for companies’ recovery in a sustainable, competitive and attractive Europe”.

They revolve around three objectives:

1. 1. 1. Sustainability goals : Boost low-carbon investments in Europe to ensure the transition of the overall economy (i.a. the “Fit for 55” package, sustainable finance and sustainablility reporting)
      2. Competition goals : Act to ensure a level-playing field within and beyond the EU (i.a. competition policy, DSA/DMA, due diligence, sustainable corporate governance and trade policy)
      3. Attractivity goals : Enhance the European territory’s attractiveness by sustaining investment and employment in Europe (i.a. the Capital Markets Union, investment protection, taxation and Schengen acquis)
