In its contribution to the public consultation launched by the European Commission, AFEP reiterates its support to the preparation of a legislative initiative on an anti-coercion instrument. Large French companies suggest taking into account a large scope of coercive measures by third countries, including measures not aimed at influencing EU and Member States policy, and equipping the EU with a vast array of trade and investment responses. AFEP calls for close coordination with the revision of the blocking Regulation to make sure that the EU policy toward extraterritorial measures is consistent and provides EU companies with an appropriate set of tools against them.
